Del. Division of Public Health investigating potential Coronavirus case

KENT CO., Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health says they are investigating a potential case of Coronavirus in Kent County.

Authorities say after a review of the patient’s travel history and symptoms, it was decided that testing should be performed. Officials say the person is currently hospitalized in isolation out of an abundance of caution, and that there is no widespread risk to hospital staff or other patients. Test results are expected in the coming days.

The CDC says that risk is based on exposure, and being in the heart of flu season, most people are at greater risk of contracting seasonal influenza than coronavirus. Only those who have recently traveled to China or have had contact with someone who has recently traveled and is sick have an increased risk at getting sick.
