Driver Killed After Crashing into Light Pole in Dover
DOVER, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed one on Friday night.
At 11:00 p.m. on Dec. 5, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on POW/MIA Parkway, approaching Baden Powell Way. Police say the truck left the roadway, traveled off the north edge, and struck a signal light support pole.
The driver, 43-year-old Melvin Weathers of Dover, was not properly restrained at the time of the crash. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Troopers ask anyone with relevant information or who witnessed the crash to contact Master Corporal W. Booth at (302) 698-8451.
