Foodie Friday: Mrs. Martin’s Cookies

From cookies to flavorful slushies, Kierra Martin at Mrs. Martin’s Cookies hits her customers right in their sweet spot– WMDT’s Leila Weah was hit in hers.
Delightful Donuts
“Mrs. Martin’s Cookies, she invited us over to try some of her delectable, sweet treats that everybody flocks over to her food truck for,” Leila said, picking up a mini donut. “We’re going to be digging into this mini donut. It’s a fruity pebble mini donut, never seen anything like this.”
“It tastes like a nice, fluffy piece of cake, and those fruity pebbles on top gives it a little fruit kick, I guess you could say,” Leila said, admiring the presentation of the treat.
Spectacular Slushies
“Sometimes, if you’re having a heavier sweet, you need something to wash it down, and my girl Mrs. Martin, they have slushies here,” Leila said. “It’s not syrupy or artificial at all; this actually tastes like mango.”
Craving Cookies?
“It’s like super, super soft– it’s just going to melt in your mouth, I know it, I just know it,” Leila said, describing the chocolate chip cookie, a staple at Mrs. Martin’s Cookies.
“This is a cookie with nice structure, but then once you take a bite, all of the flavors are just dispersing how they’re supposed to,” she added.
Brilliant Brookies
“We’ve got the best of both worlds here, baby. We’ve got a brookie… half brownie, half cookie,” Leila said, cutting the hybrid treat in half. “I love brownies and I love cookies; they each hold a special place in my heart.”
