Pair of Thanksgiving Shootings Hit Dover; One 15-year-old Injured
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that took place on Thanksgiving Day.
The first shooting occurred around 3:00 p.m. in a unit block on Par Haven Drive. Officers responded to the scene and learned a 15-year-old male was shot in his upper body while inside of a vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital by a personal vehicle for treatment. His injury was determined to be non-life-threatening.
An occupied apartment was also shot during this incident, but no injuries were reported.
Police say the juvenile victim was uncooperative with authorities, and they have no leads at this time.
A second shooting damaged a car around 11:00 p.m. on 200 Block of South DuPont Highway. Officers responded and made contact with a 34-year-old male. The victim reported that he was driving northbound in the area of Public Safety Boulevard when his vehicle was shot by an unknown suspect. The victim was uninjured.
Police have no leads in connection to this shooting at this time.
