Investigation underway following early morning purse robbery in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating a purse snatching that happened early Monday morning.

According to police, at around 6:30 a.m., a 76-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle in the area of the Dover East Mobile Home Park when an unknown male suspect reportedly approached her from behind and grabbed her purse. The suspect then fled westbound through the woods nearby.

The suspect was described as a male, approximately 5’9″ and wearing a black winter coat with a white stripe from the right shoulder down to the left hip, and dark pants.

The victim suffered a minor injury to her wrist as a result of the incident.
