House Fire in Eden Displaces Family of Three

EDEN, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal has determined a house fire that took place Thursday night to be the result of an electrical event.

On Nov. 20 at 8:44 p.m., crews from the Allen Volunteer Fire Department and other area companies responded to a residence Post Office Road following reports of a fire from the owners. Smoke alarms were present on the property but did not activate.

The fire is believed to have originated in one of the home’s bedrooms, and crews battled the fire for half an hour. The total damage to the property is estimated to be valued at $20,000.

As a result of the fire, three adults and one dog were displaced. They are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
