Salisbury to acquire the old police station

SALISBURY, Md. — The city of Salisbury has signed a letter of intent to acquire 112 West Church St., the site of the former police station.

Mayor Randy Taylor said the decision aims to alleviate overcrowding in the city’s IT department. He also expressed excitement about bringing the building back into use for city operations.

“I think the closer we can get people working around the courthouse, which is where the city’s operations are, the better,” Taylor said. “This will be an additional asset for that purpose, and it’s good to bring it back into service.”

Taylor added that the city is also exploring plans for the building currently housing the IT department, suggesting it could be repurposed for the police department.
