Adopt-A-Block needs donations!!

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. — The best way to help is by getting involved, according to local organizers.

Adopt A Block is seeking donations of kid cereals, instant mashed potatoes, and monetary contributions to help continue its mission of feeding the community. However, another key way to support the initiative is through volunteering.

Ginny Poorman, operations manager for Adopt A Block, said, “I would say donate your time. Volunteer at a local organization. When you’re at the grocery store and you see those buy-one, get-one-free deals, get those, because you can always donate the free one to pantries. All of us need the support right now, and money.”

The organization holds open markets every other Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. However, to secure some of the best deals, they recommend arriving by 10 a.m.
