Woman Arrested for Disorderly Conduct during Traffic Stop in Milton
MILTON, Del. – The Milton Police Department has arrested a woman for disorderly conduct following a traffic stop conducted by officers on Thursday night.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Oct. 30, a Milton Police officer witnessed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal at the intersection of Union Street and Federal Street, prompting a traffic stop.
During the stop, a female passenger, identified as 26-year-old Joanna Peterman, became agitated, yelling and screaming at the officers. Despite being given multiple commands and instructions to stop, she refused to comply. When officers attempted to take her into custody, she continued to be disorderly and resist, but she was ultimately detained.
Peterman was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She was released on $1,100 unsecured bail and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
