Massive B&E Tire in Dagsboro Ruled Accidental
DAGSBORO, Del. – The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a commercial structure fire at B&E Tire that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company and assisting mutual aid fire companies responded to the 28000 block of Quarter Mile Drive shortly after 3:30 p.m. When crews arrived on scene, they found a commercial vehicle repair garage with fire and smoke showing. The building was occupied and operating at the time of the fire, but all occupants were able to evacuate without injury.
Delaware Deputy State Fire Marshals responded to the scene and conducted an origin and cause investigation. The fire was determined to be accidental in nature and occurred when gasoline vapors became ignited during a vehicle repair operation on the interior of the repair garage.
Damage is estimated at $800,000. There were no other reported injuries.
