Paws on Pemberton returns

SALISBURY, Md. — Paws on Pemberton is returning this Saturday, Nov. 8.

Wicomico Recreation, Parks, and Tourism is inviting community members and their dogs to take part in the family-friendly event, which will be hosted at Pemberton Park in Salisbury.

This year, the event will feature an optional 1.5-mile dog walk, a timed 5K dog run, and several activities throughout the day to keep owners and their pups moving.

There will also be performances by the Mid-Atlantic Disc Dogs, live music, homemade dog biscuits, and more. Visitors and their pets can compete for best costumes and other awards.

Some adoptable pets will also be in attendance.

“We’re working to get dogs adopted as much as possible. We have three rescue groups coming. The Wicomico County Humane Society is going to be there, Grass Roots Rescue is going to be there, as well as the Brandywine Valley SPCA out of Georgetown, Delaware,” programmer Megan Jones said.

Events will kick off at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Race registration closes at the end of the day Wednesday, Nov. 5.
