Hurlock Selects Earl Murphy as Mayor
(HURLOCK, Md) – Voters turned out on Saturday and voiced their choice.
Former town council member Earl Murphy won the race, beating incumbent mayor Reverend Charles Cephas 230 to 140 votes.
Murphy met with WMDT following the results to talk about what actions he plans to take when he is sworn in to office in December.
“You know, it’s just taking those things on my list and, showing the people we’ve got a lot to do and, make sure they see it quickly. Let them see that there is. This is the choice. They made the right choice. And those who voted for, the gentleman that I ran against, I want them to know that I am here for them, too,” says Murphy.
Murphy is the 26th mayor in the history of Hurlock.
