Berlin Fire Company will hold open house Sunday

BERLIN, Md. – Berlin is hosting an open house and housing ceremony on October 26th.

This is to celebrate the new Engine 6, taking the place of the old, soon-to-be-retired Engine 607.

The new engine costs close to $1 million, without accounting for parts. Berlin Fire Company President David Fitzgerald is proud of the new hardware.

He tells WMDT the event will be symbolic, featuring chiefs from years past.

“Our two older living fire chiefs, one is going to be in the 1988 truck, and we’re going to push it out. And then we’ll have another past fire chief, and we’re going to push the new truck into the building.”

The ceremony begins at noon.
