DSP investigating early morning shooting in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened early Monday morning in Dover.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident happened at around 1:15 a.m., on North Governors Boulevard, Capital Park. At the same time, police got a report of a subject with gunshot wounds at a local area hospital, and it was confirmed that this subject was the 24-year-old male victim in the shooting incident.

It was then learned that two male victims were inside a parked vehicle on North Governors Boulevard when an unknown suspect walked by and started shooting at the vehicle. The victims were able to exit the vehicle and get away from the subject. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, while the other subject in the vehicle was not injured.

Police have not identified the suspect at this time.
