Rehoboth Beach PD Unveils New Community Portal
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The Rehoboth Beach Police Department (RBPD) unveiled a community policing portal on Friday.
The new portal allows for communication between the City of Rehoboth Beach community and law enforcement by offering direct access to several services. Entries in the portal are secure and only accessible by RBPD.
Services provided in the portal include submitting tips for non-urgent issues, providing details about lost bicycles, and requesting a “vacation watch” to have RBPD keep an eye on your home while away. Residents, including business owners, can register multiple keyholders, along with their alarm system information, in case someone needs access to their property.
Users are also able to input descriptors, emergency contacts, habits, and other important information about themselves or loved ones with medical conditions in case of an emergency. Residents can even enroll their pets’ information to provide identifying details and owner contact information in case their animal goes missing, is stolen, or is found.
While the portal is primarily designed for residents, Rehoboth Beach visitors are able to access select features in the portal. Police emphasize that all emergencies should continue to be directed to 911.
The system was a free addition to RDPD’s existing subscription to software program, Frontline. The community portal is free to access here.
