Coastal Hospice to host annual 5K and Walk at Assateague State Park
ASSATEAGUE, Md. — Coastal Hospice is inviting the community to lace up their sneakers — and leash up their dogs — for its annual 5K run and 2-mile walk this Saturday at Assateague State Park.
The event aims to raise funds for hospice care services across the Lower Eastern Shore. Organizers say it’s a scenic and healthy way for participants to support a vital cause, with the course winding through the park’s natural landscapes.
“It’s a 5K or two-mile [walk], and you can bring your four-legged friend as long as they are under control and leashed,” said Kerrie Bunting of Coastal Hospice. “Come out and have a great way to start a brisk fall on Assateague State Park.”
Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the race set to start at 9. Pets are welcome, and the event is open to participants of all ages.
