Community rallies to help woman severely injured

SALISBURY, Md. – One Snow Hill family is asking for help, after their youngest daughter nearly lost her life.

Back in November, Lacey Chesser, got into a car accident after hitting a tree head on in Salisbury.

On Sunday, the family hosted a fundraiser at Roadie Joe’s Bar and Grill, to help with medical bills, as Chesser continues to fight each day.

Fundraising efforts included a raffle with prizes and much more.

The family says Lacey has undergone ten surgeries so far with more to come, including one surgery where she lost part of her left leg.

Now her family is asking for your help.

“Nobody ever really prepares for something like this to happen, so that’s why I wanted to do these fundraisers to help her out in anyway possible,” said Megan Chesser, Lacey’s older sister.

“This is the last thing she needs to worry about is to pay for her medical bills and stuff like that,” said Chesser.

According to Megan, there will be several fundraisers in the coming months to support Lacey.

There is also a GoFundMe page, which has already helped raise more than 10,000 dollars.
