Lewes Fire Dept. hosts 6th annual open house

LEWES, Del. – The Lewes Fire Department is hosting its 6th annual open house.

The event welcomes in folks from the community for fire and vehicle extraction demonstrations, equipment displays, and for various family activities. Fire Chief Robert Stephens encourages folks to come out to see the work volunteer fire fighters do, and to see how their tax dollars are being used.

“We want the people to come in and see what the fire and see what the fire department is about, see what Lewes Fire Department is about, like I said, this is your tax dollars at work, this is your donations at work. We open our doors up so that way you can see what you’re donating to,” said Chief Stephens.

The event will kick off at 4pm this Thursday.
