City of Dover Announces Independent Review to Strengthen Public Trust
DOVER, Del. – The City of Dover announced on Monday the hiring of 21CP Solutions, a firm specializing in public safety management and community trust-building, to conduct an independent review.
The firm is tasked with reviewing recent concerns about a potential criminal release of confidential records, public safety, and transparency.
Mayor Robin R. Christiansen said the decision reflects the City’s proactive commitment to accountability.
“Our residents deserve a government they can trust and leaders who are unafraid to examine their own processes. This is not about responding to outside noise; it’s about ensuring that Dover continues to lead with integrity and transparency,” said Mayor Christiansen. “The residents of Dover can be confident that this City will always choose the path of transparency.”
The independent review is expected to focus on identifying facts, evaluating city policies and practices, and offering recommendations to enhance operations and accountability. The City expects the process to begin immediately, with 21CP working closely with City leadership and reporting its findings publicly upon completion.
“The Council and the Mayor are united in our goal of strengthening public trust,” said City Council President Fred Neil. “21CP’s experience across the country will provide valuable insights that help our City continue moving forward with professionalism, fairness, and transparency.”
The City will release additional information as the review begins. You can find more information about 21CP here.
