Cadets team up with Santa Claus to help needy families
PITTSVILLE, Md. – In Pittsville, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are on a mission to make Christmas wishes come true for families in need, but they are asking for your help.
The duo, recently partnered up with the Pittsville Fire Department Cadet Program, to help four Wicomico County families struggling financially this holiday season.
On Monday, they will go to several homes and hand deliver toys and Christmas meals for these families.
Pittsville firefighters, members of the cadet program and the Claus family are asking for donations, including gift cards from Food Lion or Walmart.
We are told it is these sort of efforts that make a lasting impact on the community.
“We never know when we have, are going to fall on hard times, and it could be you, it could be me, you just never know,” said Captain Gary Bratten at the Pittsville Fire Department.
“So, we’d really like to try to step up and help those families that fall down on hard times,” said Bratten, “After all, we’re here to help the people in the community,” said Bratten.
According to Bratten, the Pittsville Fire Department will be accepting donations this week for the families in need.
For those who are interested in helping, they are encouraged to reach out to Captain Bratten at 410-251-3603.
