(DORCHESTER CO., Md) – There’s no shortage of events happening across Dorchester County…

Starting on the waters of the Cambridge Harbor with the Richardson Maritime Museum where they’re holding their first annual Boatyard Bash; An event they’re hoping will become an annual fundraiser for the museum.

“This fundraiser and the support to people who are going to come out and have a great time and have fun is basically going to be dual purpose. One is to promote the maritime heritage…” says Richardson Maritime Museum representative, Debbie Usab.

Out in rural Dorchester County, Layton’s Chance Vineyard is preparing to celebrate the end of their harvest season with their 16th annual Harvest festival.

And they’re going all out as the last grapes come in.

Layton’s Chance Tasting Room Manager, Leslie Bratten says, “This is one of our biggest events. We always have a crowd of at least 200, 250 people, if not more. Tickets sell out rather fast.”

And out at Layton’s Chance, their Harvest Festival, their tradition is more than just a chance to enjoy the fruits of their labor…

It’s also their way of saying thanks to those who seek them out in Vienna.

“But we commemorate the end of our harvest, a successful harvest season every year, and we throw in this big event and thank our public for supporting us for all these years. We actually just celebrated our 15th birthday and this will be our 16th Annual Harvest Festival,” says Leslie.

Back in Cambridge, they’re hoping for a large turnout this weekend at Richardson.

Debbie tells us, “We would like to make this our annual fundraiser because it’s for the community and it’s also for our museum and promoting our mission…”
