Salisbury Police Charge Suspect in 2006 Cold Case
SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) announced on Thursday that they have charged a suspect in connection with an unsolved murder that took place nearly 20 years ago.
On Apr. 8, 2006, SPD officers were called to an alleyway near the 300 block of Naylor Street following reports of a woman yelling. When they arrived, they located 40-year-old Denise Horsey suffering from multiple stab wounds. Horsey was transported to then hospital, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
On Sept. 22, a Wicomico County Grand Jury indicted 43-year-old Tyrone Leroy Hughey of Hagerstown for the death of Denise Horsey. Hughey, although charged, is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
