Bennett comes thru in the clutch to beat Pocomoke

Bennett junior Conner Banks showed his clutch gene on Monday afternoon, scoring the game-winning goal with less than two minutes to go to give the Clippers a 2-1 win over Pocomoke.

The Clippers struck first in the 15th minute of the of the game, when Aidan’s Kelly strike from just inside the box gave Bennett the early lead. Pocomoke would answer back less than 6 minutes later, when a run started by Gus Enriquez led to a shot, that deflected off a Bennett defender to tie the game up.

Banks’ winner would come with less than two minutes remaining in the game, and hold as the winner.
