Wicomico County hosts fall sports programs
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. — Wicomico County Recreation and Parks is hosting several sports programs for children and adults this fall.
The sports offered include basketball, junior softball, kickball, wiffle ball, lacrosse and more. All programs are currently open for registration and are free to the public.
Many of the youth sports are part of Wicomico Recreation and Parks’ Game Changers program, a community-driven initiative designed to promote physical health, social development and emotional well-being in underserved youth. The county is also hosting inclusive sports such as kickball for children with disabilities, organized by employees of Wicomico Recreation, Parks and Tourism, including Brian Workman.
“We have an inclusive kickball program. This is a drop-in program that happens at Field 7½ at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex. It runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.,” Workman said.
Kickball games are held on Saturdays through Oct. 25. Games for children ages 4 to 15 are held from 9 to 10 a.m., and games for those 16 and older are held from 10 to 11 a.m.
