Shatter the Stigma takes is back on this Saturday

SALISBURY, Md. — Wor-Wic Community College is partnering with the Wicomico County Health Department for the fourth annual Shatter the Stigma walk.

The event will take place Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Wor-Wic. Organizers said the morning will include face painting, a DJ, giveaways, free T-shirts, and food and drinks. The family-friendly event invites people to show support for those in recovery.

“It just shows the community that we are all willing to work together. It takes a village to support people who are in recovery. So it shows them we’re willing to team up and help guide people to get the help that they deserve,” an organizer said.

September is National Recovery Month, and this marks one of the final events of the campaign.
