State Sen. Mary Beth Carozza represents district 38 at Tawes

CRISFIELD, Md. – WMDT caught up with state senator Mary Beth Carozza at the J. Millard Tawes Crab & Clam bake.

She’s been representing her district at the event for years, bringing family and friends into her tent and enjoying crabs in the crab capitol of the world.

Senator Carozza called this year a special one, as she’s also gearing up for re-election in 2026. The state senator said she’s hoping to continue fighting for her constituents on issues like the offshore wind project in Ocean City, as well as persistent flooding in Somerset County.

“I see this as an event that not only do we enjoy the crabs and the comradery, but it’s a chance for me to show off my district,” said Carozza. “I represent Crisfield– I have some guests here today that it’s their first time to this event, so they’re taking it all in.”
