Millville Fire Co. Battles Early Morning Housefire
MILLVILLE, Del. – The Millville Volunteer Fire Company (MVFC) was hard at work putting out a house fire early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 4:14 a.m. on Sept. 24, MVFC was dispatched to a residential structure fire in Banksville Park. Crews arrived to a single-story home, with visible smoke and flames emerging from the rear and right side of the house.
Crews successfully suppressed the fire under the command of Assistant Chief Walt Johnson. MVFC was assisted by the Bethany Beach, Frankford, Roxana, and Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Companies. The incident took two hours to complete, including an overhaul of the structure.
No one was occupying the residence at the time of the fire. Two firefighters were evaluated on scene by medical professionals, but no injuries were reported. The Delaware State Fire Marshal will be investigating the cause of the fire.
