Five arrested after large fight in Dewey Beach that injured Police Officers

Five people are facing charges, after Police say they were involved in a large fight outside of a Dewey Beach restaurant.
Dewey Beach Police say on Sunday around 1:25 AM, Officers noticed a fight in progress in the Ivy Restaurant parking lot, on Dagsworthy Avenue. There were apparently between ten and 15 people fighting, so the Officer attempted to intervene, and called for backup.
As the additional Officers arrived, Police say the crowd grew, and became more disorderly as several more fights broke out. Police say the crowd started to move into the the North Beach Restaurant parking lot. According to the report, as the crowd grew to between 50 and 60 people, Officers started to be engaged in physical altercations, and the aggression shifted towards the Dewey Beach Police officers.
Police say numerous individuals started to incite a riot, directing people in the crowd to fight the Police. Investigators say that several Officers were taken to the ground by members of the crowd, where they were kicked and punched. Officers from the Rehoboth Beach Police and Delaware State Police apparently eventually arrived to help out, and disperse the group.
Police say the altercation lasted about ten minutes, before it was brought under control. One Dewey Beach Police Officer reportedly suffered moderate injuries, while three others received minor injuries. Police say all four were treated by the Rehoboth Beach Fire Department at the scene, and released.
In total, Police say they made five arrests, in connection to the incident. Twenty three-year-old Christopher Harris, of Lincoln was charged with riot: class f felony, resisting arrest with violence: class g felony, assault second degree: class d felony, and disorderly conduct: unclassified misdemeanor, before being turned over to the Sussex Correctional Institute on a $6,500 bond.
Twenty-year-old Justin Johnson, of Milford; was charged with resisting arrest with violence: class g felony, disorderly conduct: unclassified misdemeanor, and under age possession/consumption of alcohol: unclassified misdemeanor, and given a $1,000 bond at SCI.
Twenty one-year-old Raven Bacon, of Ellendale; and 18-year-old Gabrielle Knight, of Milford, were both charged with resisting arrest with violence: class g felony, and disorderly conduct: unclassified misdemeanor, and given $500 bonds at SCI.
Twenty two-year-old Latre Bonville, of Greenwood was charged with disorderly conduct: unclassified misdemeanor, and resisting arrest: class a misdemeanor, and released.
