Lower Shore Workforce Alliance to host Career Carnival

SALISBURY, Md. — The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance is hosting a career carnival on Friday, Sept. 26 at the Perdue Henson Junior Achievement Center. The event is designed for people who are exploring career interests, considering new job opportunities, or simply wanting to know more about local industries.

The event will have career-themed games prizes, treats, and virtual reality career simulations.

“We have headsets that will expose students to career exploration, over 40 different industry sectors and get a sense of what it’s like to be a mechanic, a nurse, etc. It’s a virtual experience,” Lower Shore Workforce Alliance Director, Leslie Porter-Cabell said.

The family friendly event is open to people of all ages, and parents are encouraged to bring their children. Attendees can learn more about opportunities to boost their career with local businesses.

“We have over 40 vendors that are going to talk to you about opportunities and apprenticeships and training available throughout their industry,” Lower Shore Workforce Alliance Deputy Director, Bob Hendricks said.
