Krispy Kreme closure leaves hole in donut lovers’ hearts
SALISBURY, Md. – The same way the Colts left Baltimore overnight for Indianapolis is seemingly the same way Krispy Kreme made it’s exit from our community– with no warning.
What was once a fan-favorite donut shop now looks like the ghost of one, paper over the windows, pad locked doors, and no sign of life.
Joshua Cropper made the drive to Krispy Kreme on Wednesday morning to pick up some glazed desserts for his mom.
“I thought it was open and then I saw nobody was here. I saw the garbage truck, and I said, ‘Oh.’ So, I saw you and asked were they closed, and you told me they were closed, so I said, ‘Oh man.’ I got to tell my mom,” said Joshua.
But owner of Crybaby Tattoo, Peach wasn’t as shocked to hear the news.
“I try to go to Krispy Kreme to do fundraisers, to supply donuts for my coworkers– we have events sometimes that we want cute donuts, and every time I go, there’s no one there. I think I’ve seen the light on like three times my entire existence in Salisbury,” said Peach.
But the question is, why did they shut down? WMDT reached out to Krispy Kreme and did not receive a response. While the doors may be closed, that doesn’t mean people aren’t open to getting their donuts elsewhere, unless you’re Joshua’s mom.
“My mom probably won’t get no more donuts, honestly… honestly,” said Joushua.
