Davis’ Walk-off Keeps Wicomico Perfect

The Wicomico legion baseball team stayed perfect on the year after their 10-0 win over Dorchester on Monday afternoon. The home team would be sitting on a 9-0 lead in the 5th before Wi-Hi grad Ben Davis would turn on a pitch to left field for the game winning RBI single scoring Brant Smith.
Wicomico would jump out to an early 5-0 lead after in the first, getting RBI base knocks from Matt Smith and Andrew Smith. Dorchester then settled down in the next couple frames, as Alex Wright would navigate through Wicomico’s lineup without giving up to much damage. But eventually, Wicomico’s bats would get going again. They would push the lead to 7-0 by the end of the 4th after getting another RBI base knock from Chris Wallace. Then in the 5th, Wicomico would work runners on 2nd and 3rd with no out, before Davis would slap a pitch opposite field for the win. Parkside grad Grant Schilling and Bennett grad Tyler Dunn would combine for the complete game shut out for Wicomico.
