Georgetown man sentenced on burglary charges

KENT CO., Del. – A Georgetown man has been sentenced to ten years behind bars for his role in a string of home burglaries in Kent County.

Back in late May, 46-year-old Richard Edwards broke into homes in Hartly, Dover, and Smyrna, stealing a 9mm handgun, cash, jewelry, and a video game console.

Edwards pleaded guilty to three counts of second degree burglary. A judge sentenced him to a total of ten years behind bars, followed by one year of probation.
