Salisbury man sentenced to 25 years for drug possession, violation of probation

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been sentenced to 25 years behind bars for convictions in two separate cases.

On April 4th of this year, 44-year-old Shawn Hugee fled from an attempted traffic stop, driving in excess of 100 mph, before jumping over an embankment and crashing the vehicle. During the pursuit, Hugee threw one ounce of cocaine out of the vehicle, which was later recovered.

Hugee pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine on Wednesday. This conviction led officials to find Hugee in violation of probation from a 2012 conviction on a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin.
