Mayor Zach Tyndall for congress?

BERLIN, Md. – Mayor Zach Tyndall, announced he will create an exploratory committee. This is because he is considering a run for Maryland’s first congressional district against Andy Harris.

The expectation is that the committee will provide appropriate feedback before taking the next step in campaigning.

WMDT spoke with Mayor Tyndall, and he said that his time in public service has led him to this point.

“Serving in the Berlin Fire Company as a cadet, and then transitioning into a career paramedic and fireman where I worked in Berlin and Ocean City. Public service has been in my blood ever since I was a little boy and my father was in the fire service.”

Tyndall has nearly a decade of experience leading Berlin, and he hopes he can help bring a bipartisan problem-solving approach to Washington.

He feels areas on the Eastern Shore are often overlooked and undeserved. And he believes it stems from the disconnect between Washington and the shore.

Tyndall described his time as a mayor has been hands-on – and he is ready to make this move.

“I’ve been in the town of Berlin as a sitting council member, and then my 2 terms as a mayor and what we’re looking at are kitchen table issues, what matters to people, and what really impacts their lives.”
