MSP Sergeant charged with misconduct in office
WICOMICO CO., Md. – Acting State Prosecutor Kelly Madigan announced on Tuesday that a Maryland State Police Sergeant has been charged with misconduct in office.
We’re told a Wicomico County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Michael McComas. The charges allege that McComas notified a subordinate employee that they were the target of a search and seizure warrant, giving the employee a chance to remove items from their residence before the lawful search and seizure warrant was executed.
“It is imperative that law enforcement officers, who take an oath to uphold the law, are held accountable when they violate the law, especially when it relates to disclosing confidential information to the target of an investigation,” said Madigan in a statement.
