Two arrested after apparent mutual baseball bat assault in Salisbury

Kevin L. Jones, 42, Salisbury, Md. and Lora L. Godwin, 26, Salisbury, Md.

Two Salisbury residents have been charged, after investigators say the two were involved in a fight involving a baseball bat.

On July 4 around 8:20 PM, a Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a reported domestic altercation at a home on East Road in Salisbury. According to the report, the deputy met with the residents Kevin Jones, 42, and Lora Godwin, 26, while learning that the two had an argument.

The report says that the altercation turned physical after Godwin supposedly hit Jones with a baseball bat. Jones then apparently used the same bat to strike Godwin. Investigators say that the deputy saw signs of injury that supported a mutual assault between the two residents.

The deputy then arrested both Jones and Godwin, and transported them to the Central Booking Unit where they were charged with second degree assault in front of the District Court Commissioner. Both Jones and Godwin were then detained in the Wicomico County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond, each.
