Art Exhibit held in downtown Berlin

The Worcester County Arts Council hosted an "Artist's Choice" competition and exhibit at their gallery in downtown Berlin Friday evening.
The exhibit features 25 two pieces of two and three-dimensional all media artwork submitted by 20 professional and amateur artists. The artwork submitted will be on exhibit until April 30.
Located on Jefferson Street, the council supports the arts throughout the community through grants, scholarships and activities.
The goal for the council is to award four scholarships to high school and college students majoring in writing, drama, dance, music and visual arts.
The organization has about 25 co-op members who display their art and everything is for sale.
"We have glassblowers, we have woodworkers, it just gives more to the area than just going to the beach," said Sharon Sorrentino, VP of the County Arts Council. "Like when I was a kid we'd come to the beach and be on the beach all day long, and that was it."
The next scholarship to be handed out will be in May for $1000 in honor of Janet Paper.
