City of Salisbury accepting sculpture proposals for city park
SALISBURY, Md. – Calling all artists: The city of Salisbury wants to commission you, and put your work on display for everyone to see.
WMDT is told it’s part of an effort to spotlight local art in our community. The city has opened an application for folks to submit sculpture proposals for the city park.
The chosen artist will receive a $30,000 grant to make the dream come to life. City spokesperson, Victoria Idoni said the application is open to anyone with an artistic eye, and a desire to bring some vibrancy to the community.
“For this project, we’re looking for new ideas, so maybe you’re somebody who has something that you want to see built, but maybe you’re not necessarily an artist. You can absolutely go in as a team– the only requirements are, you have to be over the age of 18, and at least have lived here for six months,” said Idoni.
