President Trump signs off on ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ local leaders are calling it a victory
OCEAN CITY, Md.- United States Congressional Representative Andy Harris reacted to President Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill at the White Marlin Open.
President Trump signed the piece of documentation on July 4th, Independence Day.
The act will impose tighter restrictions on sourcing and put rules in place for financing clean energy projects.
Detractors say the bill will jeopardize the $620 million for 69 projects. However, Congressman Harris said this should have happened a while ago.
“The bottom line is it included an end to the credits that these projects have to have to be financially viable. I’ve always wondered why we are giving tax credits, which are basically taxpayer dollars, to foreign companies.”
Maryland Governor Wes Moore has long supported the idea of bolstering renewable energy. One of those projects is U.S. Wind’s offshore project slated for Ocean City.
