Vine to Wine Event

Frankford, Del. — If you’re curious about how wine is made, you’ll want to check out Salted Vines Vineyard and Winery’s event later this month.

This is the first time the winery is hosting such an event, and owner and operator Adrian Mobilia said it’s a great opportunity to learn how different types of grapes are used to create specific wine varieties.

“We’re going to walk around all of the four existing vineyard blocks and visit the two new ones, the Pinot Noir and the Chenin Blanc. We’ll discuss what winemakers look for to determine whether the grapes are mature,” Mobilia said.

Attendees will have the chance to ask the experts any questions they have.

“Then we’ll head to the new vineyard to show the growth, and we’ll have glasses of wine from each of the varieties we’re working with. You’ll be able to taste previous year’s vintages. It’ll be pretty fun,” he added.

The event is scheduled for Aug. 16, and the following day, the winery will host Sunshine and Slushies, featuring 45 vendors and peachy frozen treats.
