Robbery at Ellendale Dollar General under investigation

Officials say they are looking into a armed robbery that took place late Wednesday night, just as a store was closing for the night.

Delaware State Police say the Ellendale Dollar General was robbed around 11 PM, when a male suspect entered the store on Beach Highway.

According to the report, the suspect was armed with an unknown type of handgun, as he approached two male employees that were closing up. Officials say that the suspect then forced the employees back inside, demanded cash, and then ran, after being given an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported in this incident.

Police describe the suspect as male, between 5’10”-6’02” tall, average build, wearing all dark clothing with a mask over his face, and armed with an unknown type of handgun.
