James Thompson sentenced to life in prison with all but 25 years suspended

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Circuit Court for Wicomico County sentenced 65-year-old James Thompson to life imprisonment with all but 25 years suspended.

Thompson’s crimes, occurring between 2021 and 2023, involved repeated acts of sexual violence against a victim who was a member of the same household.
Evidence presented during the investigation revealed Thompson had employed both explicit and implicit threats to coerce compliance.
On several occasions, Thompson forced the victim to perform sexual acts with other men, some of which he recorded.

During his interview with detectives, Thompson admitted to having a sexual interest in children.
He also has a prior conviction from 2012 for a Sexual Offense in the Fourth Degree, involving the sexual abuse of a six-year-old child.
