Last Friday Night Live of the season
Salisbury, Md. —The City of Salisbury Welcomes Special Band for Friday Night Live
The City of Salisbury will feature a special band this Friday as part of its Friday Night Live series.
The band, Uncle Kunkel, is returning home for its second appearance, having originally formed at Salisbury University.
Chris Ford, events technical specialist for the City of Salisbury, said it’s exciting to bring local talent back to the Shore.
“We’re excited to have Uncle Kunkel’s one great band back in Salisbury,” Ford said. “They are a Salisbury University-born band who has since made waves in Baltimore, Annapolis, and now they’re coming back for a homecoming show. It’s going to be a great time, and if you want to get a taste of what the local stage at the Maryland Folk Festival is going to sound like, come to the show. Uncle Kunkel will also be performing at the Folk Festival in September.”
This Friday will mark the last Friday Night Live event of the season, but Ford noted that it won’t be the last event of the year.
“We have Third Friday in August, which is going to be huge, as it will be the first time we introduce our new TAPS program. We’re really looking forward to it, and that will be our test run,” he said. “Then it’s all gearing up for the Maryland Folk Festival — a three-day, absolutely free event featuring 35 different artists and demonstrators on four different stages.”
