Demolition Derby returns at the Delaware State Fair

HARRINGTON, Del.- Demolition Derby going early Friday night, at the Delaware State Fair.

Drivers are getting ready as the Demolition Derby is earlier this year compared to years before.

Scheduling of the Demolition Derby early so that they didn’t having to keep moving chairs, on and off the track when it came to the many concerts and performances held at the  Delaware State Fair track.

Once home to stock car races, the Demolition took over and won the hearts of Delawareans. The Demolition Derby has also brought in crowds from neighboring states.

Marketing and Sponsorship Manager at Delaware State Fair, Carly Callahan, goes into detail about how impactful the Derby has been.

“Well it’s basically one of the pivotal things that built the fair just like agriculture. People are expecting it, they come to the fair with their families, whether they’re staying here, whether their kids are showing, and it is an event that draws a crowd that maybe a concert wouldn’t draw. So they can bring their kids, entire family, and have a great time and see an action packed you know a really exciting show.”
