Salisbury man convicted following armed robbery of convenience store

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been convicted on charges stemming from a May 2019 robbery.

59-year-old Anthony Roper was convicted of one count of armed robbery and one count of firearm use in the commission of a violent crime in a Wicomico County courtroom last week.

The charges date back to May 10, 2019, when Roper robbed the Shore Stop convenience store in the 1200 block of Mt. Hermon Road in Salisbury with a handgun. Roper took more than $4,000 in cigarettes and approximately $100 in cash from the store during the robbery. Further investigation and the execution of search warrants linked Roper to the incident.

Sentencing has been postponed.
