Storm resilience public input meeting in Crisfield
CRISFIELD, Md – The city of Crisfield is working on plans to fight back against flooding.
This Thursday, BEACON at Salisbury University is hosting a public input session on how to be more resilient against storms in the City of Crisfield. Researchers from the Environmental Protection Agency and Salisbury University will be there with the goal of finding green solutions.
They’ll also discuss protection and restoration efforts at Janes Island and Cedar Island. Community feedback is highly important, according to John Hickman, Director of BEACON.
He said, “It’s going to impact their lives and their livelihood in the case of watermen. The solutions have to be something the public is going to support, and is going to fit their lifestyle.”
The meeting will take place at Gallery 413 at 5 p.m. in downtown Crisfield.
