Governor Hogan Grants Lasting Vehicle Registration for Disabled Veterans in Maryland

Governor Hogan announces big news that will keep disabled veterans from waiting in long lines.

Governor Hogan says that the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Motor Vehicle Administration will start giving permanent car registration cards and license plate stickers to Maryland vererans who are qualified as 100 percent disabled, and it is reportedly not necessary for qualified veterans to take any action. The MVA will reportedly start mailing the permanent registration cards and stickers on August 1 to about 5,200 Maryland veterans.

Before this initiative, Maryland veterans had to renew their vehicle registration, for free, every two years at the MVA.

Governor Hogan says that his “administration has been committed to finding ways to provide veterans the support they have earned and deserve. This includes tax relief, down payment assistance for home ownership, and expanded job opportunities. Today’s announcement is another opportunity to give back to our veterans and show our gratitude to those brave men and women who have served our country.”

This announcement was formulated by MVA employees as a part of Hogan’s initiative to make Maryland state agencies customer service better.
