Harriet Tubman Freedom Center Unveils Art Gallery

 

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Harriet Tubman Freedom Center in Cambridge is honoring the legacy of the Civil Rights leader with a new gallery.

It’s called Harriet: A Taste of Freedom.

The exhibit was unveiled this past weekend, and features more than 40 works of art celebrating Tubman and her legacy.

Officials say the works are made by artists from all over the country.

“It pretty much says that Harriet Tubman’s life here in Dorchester County is relevant in across the whole globe. So people could connect with her here in Dorchester County in multifaceted paintings and aspirations,” says Freedom Center president, Alex Green.

The Harriet Tubman exhibit will be on display a the Freedom Center through September.
