UPDATE: DelDOT road conditions for Friday

DelDOT has released an update to road closures due to flooding and rain.

Next to the beach, Route 1 from Dewey Beach to Bethany Beach is now open in both directions, but officials may have to close the road again tonight, when high tide returns at around 8PM. Then the road might become closed until Saturday.

DelDOT crews in Sussex County worked through the night, and continue to work this evening, manning barricades, inspecting reports of flooded roads, and clearing debris that has fallen.

Drivers are encouraged to drive with great caution this evening, since there are still many roads that are flooded.

If motorists see a problem, DelDOT asks that they report the problem by calling #77 or 659-4600.
