Need legal help? Wicomico Co. Public Library helping take legal services on the road
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Wicomico County Public Library is helping bring law services to community members in need.
The library is partnering with the Wicomico County Circuit Court. Together, they’re taking legal services on the road, with the library’s mobile learning lab.
Experts will be meeting with folks inside the vehicle to offer free legal advice. Library director, Seth Hershberger said they’ll be making multiple stops this summer at various locations throughout the county.
“We’re helping them by taking them on the road. We have a mobile learning lab, which is a large coach that has space for meetings and using technology on there, so we’re going to go around with the courts to take the family law center on the road,” said Hershberger.
Legal experts will be able to help people prepare documents, give advice on divorce and custody cases and prepare for court.
“These are sometimes not people that would have an attorney, but they’re going through a tough time in their life,” said Hershberger. “They need extra help; the service is there so that they can represent themselves better, with legal advice from people that know what they’re talking about.”
The lab will be at the Henson Family YMCA on Wednesday, June 25, from 1-4pm.
Future dates include July 9: Williards Lions Club, 1-4pm. July 23: Sharptown Town Hall, 1-4pm. August 13: Westside Community Center, 1-4pm.
